Our Story

Honoring a Legacy,
One Cut at a Time

Hi, my name is James. My dad Charles, brother Nick, and I all decided to go in on a CNC machine so we could get creative, spend time together, challenge ourselves, and honor my grandfather by carrying on his woodworking legacy.

The name TriggerWoods came from my grandfather, Duane Riggert, who spent much of his free time woodworking in his garage shop. He was the one who taught me "measure twice, cut once" along with many other woodworking skills.

I fondly remember a surprise bank he'd built — dropping a quarter in it would trigger a mousetrap and explode the bank! He could build anything large or small, but routering signs — both whimsical and practical — was one of his specialties. During retirement, he branded his woodworking treasures with the company name TriggerWoods.

We carry on this name with pride, along with his love for family, hard work, and the joy of making something from nothing.
